Today marks the beginning of a new journey for me, one in which I attempt doing something I despise for a long period of time: writing. I think of it as a necessary exercise in sharing ideas, and it could be a fruitful experience for me. Hopefully the content will be varied, from mathematical expositions to technical theories to recent thoughts that have been on my mind.

  • Entropy, Compression, and Nature: What information theory and maximally efficient encoding teach us about ecosystems in the environment.

  • Maxwell’s Demon, Szilard Engines, Kolmogorov Complexity, and Occam’s Razor: Why plugging in your refrigerator is proof that ghosts don’t exist

  • A Primer on the Prime Number Theorem: A historical background, and an intuitive reason to believe in it

  • Arrow’s Theorem and Infinite Electorates: Why we can’t have nice voting systems unless we have an infinite voting population

I’ve been waiting on the first one for the while. Let’s hope that it will roll out in the next month or two.
